About
one year ago, a small men’s clothing store called Lost Boys opened in
Georgetown, nestled away in a row house on 31st street near the Ritz
Carlton. This store is one of a kind for Washington, DC and personally one of
my favorites in town, although my wallet does not permit me to go there as
often as I like. Don’t be afraid of the prices because there are always items
for sale in the back of the store and great deals can be found. Lost Boys
carries Theory, James Perse, Earnest Sewn, among several others including my
favorite, Band of Brothers. This store is for stylish urban men who can
appreciate looking good while not looking like you are trying too hard. You can
find anything here including jeans, corduroys, t-shirts, sweaters, rain coats,
winter coats, work coats, bathing suits etc… This store has it all.
Kelly
Muccio is the owner of this store and at one time was working for a private
equity firm here in DC. She decided to quit her job to pursue her love of
fashion in New York where she gained all the knowledge she needed prior to
moving back to DC to open Lost Boys. Kelly has branded herself and this store
since its opening in 2008 and just a couple weeks ago launched a look book
which featured a few DC United studs (Devon McTavish, Bryan Namoff, Chris
Pontius, Clyde Simms and Rodney Wallace). Kelly launched her look book with a private showing at her store
with some Stella Artois which can always be found in the store as shoppers are
welcome to have a beer while they gander around (no wonder why I like this
store). After the showing, we all headed over to the Ritz for drinks made by
our favorite DC United men. The event was a success and so was the look book. So
guys, next time you are looking for a pair of pants, a coat, or a shirt, keep
walking past Vineyard Vines and stroll down to Lost Boys.
